Just over a month ago, we traveled to London to host the annual Pokémon Europe International Championships (EUIC), one of the most important Pokémon events of the year. Thousands of Pokémon Trainers and fans joined us at ExCeL London to compete at the four Main Events to become the best Pokémon Trainers in Europe - and play countless fun Side Events and lighthearted activities for all ages. After three wonderful days of EUIC, we can look back on an incredible event, from the view of the organiser as well as Pokémon fans ourselves.
As one of the most important Pokémon events of the year, the bar for EUIC was high - even more so than the previous editions in 2024 and 2025 that both shattered attendance records. EUIC 2026 followed suit in spectacular fashion: Over the course of three days, we welcomed over 18,000 Trainers and fans - officially making it the second biggest Pokémon tournament ever run, barring the Pokémon World Championships in 2025. And it wasn’t just fans at the venue enjoying the 3-day celebration: we also recorded a 25% increase in viewership across day 1 and day 2 from last year.
To accommodate over 18,000 people, we of course had to come prepared and relied on the fantastic work of our staff and wonderful judges. As such, our hospitality team stepped up and booked over 1100 rooms (5774 nights) across 9 hotels to house the team.
Other statistics were equally impressive: with 18,000 Trainers eagerly awaiting a memorable event, we had to go above and beyond. To create the best EUIC experience possible, we occupied 40,000m² of floor space at ExCeL London (almost the entire north side of the building!) and used 1.5 kilometres of pipe & drape spread out over the entire venue.
We were honored to welcome special guests to EUIC 2026: two young Trainers attended EUIC through the Make a Wish foundation. We would kindly like to thank Make a Wish for their important work that made it possible for us to bring joy through our event.
We are immensely proud of the team and all staff for making the 2026 Pokémon Europe International Championships possible. After months of hard work across multiple teams and partners, it was an incredible feeling to see it all come together in the 3-day celebration of the IP we all love.
We would like to thank staff, judges, and our partners for their hard work and dedication to create such a memorable event for all Pokémon Trainers. Of course, we also want to thank everyone for joining us in London, celebrating Pokémon with us, and making this community the warm and welcoming place it is. Finally, we would like to thank The Pokémon Company International for their ongoing trust in us to host one of the Pokémon highlight events of the year.
